To have a career in nursing, one must meet specific educational requirements for being a registered nurse. In Canada, to become a certified, registered practical nurse, you have to take the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Exam or the CPNRE.

Here are a few things to avoid when preparing and taking the CPNRE.
Do Not Skip Practice Exams
The CPNRE exam will have around 165–170 multiple-choice questions, and you will have 4 hours to complete the computerized exam. You can test yourselves by attempting practice exams, and tests and that will give you an idea about your pace, knowledge, and ability. Practice also helps you with memory retention.
Do Not Make Assumptions
Read each and every question properly and understand what the question requires and how it links to the rest of the information provided. Do not make assumptions about what the information is about and only focus on what is directly implied.
Do Not Answer Multiple Questions at Once
Each question should be answered in its own time and separately. If one question has you stuck, it’s best to move on to the next question. If you can’t do the next either, then continue moving on to the next and revisit the skipped ones later. Do not try to rush, but also move on if a question has you feeling anxious and you’ve already spent two to three minutes on it. Since it’s MCQs, you can always guess the answers when you’re not sure, so don’t be afraid to make guesses as no points will be deducted.
